Getting by without the New In-Colors

Good Morning, Stamping Friends!

I have a card today for 2 blog challenges:  The Paper Players & Freshly Made Sketches.   Once again, I needed new In-colors, but I decided to substitute things I had in my stash instead.  I am "between jobs," as they say, so I holding off on my SU order as long as I can.

For my colors, I used always artichoke, baja breeze, concord crush, and wisteria wonder.  I kinda wish I used rich razzleberry instead of concord crush...who am I kidding?  I can hardly wait to get my hands on blackberry bliss!

I made my own pattern paper...one of my favorite techniques.  It is quick and simple, and works so well with many of my stamp sets.  I remember when I was "anti-designer paper" because I couldn't figure out why people wouldn't just make their own!  Ha!  Anyone who follows my stamping knows that I got over that silly mentality!  Even so, making my own background patterns is a lot of fun!

So...this card has a baja breeze card base.  I used the SU set "Vintage Vogue" for the center panel, stamping randomly on whisper white, then mounted it on always artichoke.  The large circle was cut from my Sizzix circles die in the big shot, which perfectly mats this extra large scallop circle punch. I softened the stamping by sponging generously.  I added 2 strips of seam binding, scrunching them up by pressing into a strip of sticky strip.  Two tiny pearls are the final detail.

I enjoyed making this card...now it is time to decide which friend I should send it to!

Thanks for stopping by again.
