Hello, and Happy Friday!
I am posting a card for this week's Colour Me...! challenge. "What?" you ask. "But it's not Monday morning!" I know, I know...I am trying to do blog challenges a bit earlier so I don't have to deal with last minute camera or appointment issues. Not sure how long this will last, but I have nothing to lose!
The color challenge (lost lagoon, smokey slate, & island indigo) seemed good for a masculine card, and since my husband's birthday was yesterday, I stayed up late Wednesday to make this card for him. He goes to work early, before I am out of bed, so I placed it next to his glasses so he would see it first thing in the morning.
Instead of lost lagoon (which I don't have yet,) I used baja breeze. I put strips of baja breeze and island indigo in the Cuttlebug divine swirls embossing folder. I used SU's "The Open Sea" stamp set to make my own pattern paper on whisper white. The sentiment is from SU's "Word Play." My hubby is a Navy vet, so these stamps are perfect for him. I added a corduroy button and bakers twine for my final details.
Now, while I am here, I am continuing my quest to do the earlier Colour Me challenges. In case you missed it, I decided to try catching up with CMCC; read about it HERE. So, today, I bring you challenges 3 & 4...
Ironically, challenge #3 is very similar to a color challenge from SCS that I recently did. The soft palette was tricky, but I had fun with it.
I had the strip of pink pirouette polka dot paper and so saffron on my cutting table. The card base is the other half of the card above. That made this card very easy to make. The image/sentiment stamp is from "Fun & Fast Notes" stamped on whisper white. (True confessions...I retrieved it from a box of stamps I intended on selling. How can I get rid of this cute porcupine?) I cut it out, using the doily sizzlit. Markers and sponging were used to color. Finally, I added this striped pink pirouette ribbon...something I used to do all the time!
The last card today is for Colour Me...! challenge #4. I really enjoy challenges with 4 colors! More room to play!
The stamp, "Eat Cheesecake," is from Hampton Art...isn't it adorable? I missed a friend's birthday this week, and this makes a fun belated birthday card. I stamped it on whisper white, then colored, doodled, and sponged with the four challenge colors. My blushing bride pattern paper is from the (old) 6x6 hostess pack. I popped up my main panel with dimensionals, and added candy dots. I kinda want ribbon, but decided to keep it very clean.
That's it for now. It has been fun playing with color! And since I did CMCC29 early, I can actually encourage you to check it out too!
